"angpresentation": "Waterfalls emit infrasonic frequencies vital for the navigation of certain birds, which use them as a compass during their migrations. Recently, noise pollution from industrialization has threatened this journey.\r\n\r\nUsing a special microphone, Vilanova captured the infrasound emitted by Niagara Falls (USA\/Canada), Montmorency Falls (Quebec), and Iguazú Falls (Brazil\/Argentina). In Cascade, 64 speakers unable to reproduce such frequencies transduce their vibrations into a suspended field of fibre-optic strands. The signals travel downward; the sound waves appear to ‘fall’ through shifting light. As the fibres quiver and tremble, visitors are invited to move through this suspended environment, to touch and sense how these aquatic frequencies take form on the skin.\r\n\r\nCascade proposes an embodied form of listening: an invitation to attune to theo these fragile sonic ecologies and attend to their preservation.",
